Dr Clara Winstead

Dr. Clara Winstead spent her early years on her family’s farm in rural Gates County, North Carolina. Growing up on a working farm, her love for animals was obvious at an early age. Since 1987, Dr. Winstead has lived the better part of her life in the Richmond area. She currently shares her home in Prince George County two Shetland sheepdogs, several spoiled housecats, and a small flock of laying hens.  Dr. Clara Winstead graduated for Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015 with an emphasis in companion animal medicine, and has worked in the Richmond area since graduation.

Dr. Winstead focuses on improving the veterinary experience for both her clients and their pets. Her professional interests include feline medicine, urgent care and emergency medicine, soft tissue surgery, and ultrasonography.

Outside of work, Dr. Winstead enjoys cooking, gardening, reading, and roller skating.
